A public festival of events and free entertainment will be happening all along the waterfront to celebrate Dun Laoghaire hosting the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Worlds In Dun Laoghaire during the Youth Worlds, especially over the weekend of Friday 13 – Sunday 15 July, and you won’t be disappointed:

• Marine Scientific Exhibition on the East Pier

Day 2 of the 5th European 420 Coaches Seminar in Togliatti, Russia focused on boat preparation, boat tuning and racing strategy during this morning’s lectures.

The 3rd day of the 5th European Coaches Seminar taking place in Togliatti, Russia highlighted procedures and proven practice on starting, tactics and racing rules with a morning classroom session. In the afternoon, the 20 coaches and 18 sailors participating were planning to head out onto the water to put the theory into practice. But the group were not as lucky as the previous days, with the already very light wind, disappear suddenly, after only a few practice exercises had been completed.

The 5th European 420 Coaches Seminar in Togliatti, Russia got underway at 1000 hours on 25 June 2012.

Fending off an initial lead in the Kieler Woche 11 race series from Spain’s David and Alex Charles, the event very clearly belonged to Nadja Horowitz/Francisca Fuentes from Chile who swept to victory with a 17 point margin over the Spanish team.

With three races completed on day 1 of 2012 Kieler Woche, the top ranked team in the 420 fleet with three impressive races wins are Spain’s David Charles/Alex Charles, followed by Santi Mas Depares/Jaime Menescal (ESP)and Harry Koeppel/Charles Bocklet (USA).

Taking place from 25-28 June 2012, there is still time to apply to attend the  5th European Coaches Seminar at the Yacht Club Khimik, Togliatti, Russia, being organized by the International 420 Class Association, in collaboration with the Russian Yachting Federation.

The 420 entry list for 2012 Kieler Woche stands at 149 teams from 15 nations – making it the largest fleet of the International Classes (non-Olympic) racing at Kiel. Racing is scheduled to get underway on Thursday 21 June through until 24 June 2012, with 11 races scheduled over the four days.

Hosted by the Yacht Club Podersdorft, the 420 Austrian National Championship 2012 took place from 7-10 June 2012 on Lake Neusiedl.

Guido D’Errico/Leonardo Marini won the event with just a 1 point margin over Masimo Attina/Francesco Genna. In third overall were Gianmaria Caiconti/Edoardo Portoraro.
