The Belgian Open 420 Championship 2005 was held as part of a multi-class event (420, 470, Europe, Cadet, Optimists) at Nieuwpoort, Belgium and was jointly hosted by W.S.K.Lum and R.Y.C.B and was as the Belgian Open Championships for the 420, 470 and Europe classes.

Racing gets underway at Junior Euros

The Rahiers (FRA) and Powys & Morgan (GBR) 1st in each Qualifier Race 1 today.
FVR Media says: "All the fleets left the shore at 12.00 for the first warning signal given punctually at 13.00. 1 race sailed for both fleets with changeable wind conditions between 12/14 knots. At 14.00 the RC due to a upcoming thunderstorm hoisted N over H, all boats went ashore.. Wet sailors at the Club waiting for the final signal………… that was given at 16.30 with N over A. So no more racing for today."

Moriceau & Cou (FRA) lead after 4 races at Junior Euros

With an early start, the Race Committee managed 3 races in the qualifying round today, before a storm in the afternoon forced an end to sailing for the day. This leaves 2 further "qualifying" races to be sailed on Tuesday (after the lay day on Monday - sounds like the sailors have fun planned in the mountains for their "holiday"). The Finals, with Gold and Silver Fleets, will commence on Wednesday.
